In the spirit of Passa Passa, Weddy Wednesdays and Exact Mondays the dancehall scene has become the sound and culture of many young Caribbean people. Star dancehall dancers like: Stacy, Queen Nikki, Black Blingers, Dyema, Ding Dong and Junko have shown that dancehall is not just a sound but a culture as well. In the Virgin Islands a powerful, talented and gritty dancehall group has taken the island of St. Croix by storm.
Collectively Reah, Beryl, Chalana, Deon, Ashel, & Chi Chi make up the group BrickHouse. The name BrickHouse has been creating a buzz in the Virgin Islands. You have heard DJ Poppy Popps and Avalanche talk about this group on the radio and you have heard St. Croix sound systems Fyah Emblem and Unleaded rave about their skills as performers. But still the group remains a mystery to some.

BrickHouse began making a name for themselves in the dancehalls about a year and half ago. BrickHouse has appeared in videos for artist such as Stroka Band and Denise Belfon. This dancehall group has shown that the Virgin Islands dancehall scene not only has great selectors and deejays, but great dancehall dancers as well.
Group member, Chalana says, "the term BrickHouse signifies that a woman is built solidly and is strong and confident." When BrickHouse dance they dance with confidence and strength. They introduce the latest dances to all of the popular dancehall songs. The selectors and sound systems love them because they exude energy to the crowd and encourage the people to get up and dance.
Now, under professional management Brickhouse is taking their dancing to a new level with scheduled appearances stateside showing the dancehall community just what the Virgin Islands has to offer this growing facet of Caribbean music.
