Born Toya Isaac, this sparkling beauty is a great definition of what it means to be a Rock Youth. Her career started out with her father the legendary DJ Calabash, playing on Coki Beach. At age 12, she would go with her father and get on the mic, which probably makes her the youngest female MC in Sound System history. Rudy would wheel out and introduce tunes, as well as give her little one-two on a riddim. From this experience she gained the name, Rudy; evolving from 'Rude Gyal' given to her by patrons of the Calabash sound. Having inherited an extensive musical background from her father, Rudy describes her style as rough and rugged infused with sweetness and sensuality, two sides of the same coin when talking about one of Rock City’s own.

Rudy's musical catalog has R&B, Dancehall, Reggae, and Lover's Rock, with a dash of Soca. She penned her first poems in Marcelli Elementary School and then branched into songs in junior high; and now has nine years experience in the game. She writes her own material and now is profiled on Jamaican Mix Tapes like Unity Gold. Creating her own space in the game with her distinct voice and creative lyrics, Rudy has garnered respect of the reggae/dancehall community like the Black Chiney Camp and has appeared on shows with Bounty Killer and the VI's own powerhouse, Pressure. With plans for a debut album, upcoming singles (one with Sizzla Kalongi), and future appearance on mix tapes she is determined with a definitive goal in mind.
She explains her outlook; "Stay focused and study your craft. It's great to love music but you have to learn the business side of it. Learn about contracts and being able to manage yourself, before you get a manger so you know what is going on and how things work." Be on the lookout for this starlet, as she sets her foundation and takes her career to the next level.
Stay focused and study your craft
