Pride and persistence is a brief description of the musical talent that is Byron “Byron Bash” Osborne. If anyone can say they have been there and done that, it’s Mr. Bash. He has been involved in the VI music scene since the days of Seventeen +. Now on to his third album entitled, “VI Carnival,” Byron is taking the culture of Virgin Islands Carnival to the masses abroad, with tours planned for the mainland and down island.
The opening and title track, “VI Carnival,” is a strong and vibrant expression with an innovative riddim and swinging melody. “Do Me” is a smooth pulsating soca, with accompaniment by Jenelia James. Jenelia is one of the two ladies making guest appearances, the other being Chantal Harrigan. Showing musical breadth, Byron wails sweet in reggae tunes “Inspiration” and “JAH-JAH Love.”
