What’s the latest, it has to be Randy L. Williams a.k.a. RANCHO. Coming out of
Ras
Valley
, Rock City Building 22, the ‘Ring-tone’ master has been involved in music since E.B. Oliver Elementary. After linking up with his down stairs neighbor last year; cutting edge producer Bosco of Beat-Down Beats, Rancho has been applying the pressure. Crushing the airwaves since 2005 with hits ‘Yo Wuk’n Up or Yo Sleep’n,’ ‘High Heel,’ ‘Ring-tone Party’ and ‘The Latest,’ Rancho speaks with CORE about what he has been doing.
CORE: Do you prefer Calypso over other genres?
RANCHO: Yea man, since elementary. I remember hearing Jamband songs on the radio on a Friday. I would tape them, practice all weekend, come back on Monday and play the whole thing. I was a Jamband ‘hung,’ I knew songs inside and out.

CORE: How is it working with a producer like Bosco, who has been in the game for so long?
RANCHO: Well, him being my down-stairs neighbor in
Ras
Valley
, I used to hear him building beats on a daily basis. Being a musician myself, we just linked up and started making songs for the hood. The hood was feeling the songs and felt we needed to take it to another level. Bosco is a talented producer and he knows what people like. He composes the rhythms and assists me with the lyrics; it’s a unity between Rancho and Beat-Down.
CORE: What is on the burner for you right now?
RANCHO: We are presently working on the album. Since ‘The Latest’ came out, I have been on a hectic performing schedule. I have had to put the stage shows on a hold, so we can focus on putting out a quality album. The tentative date for release is December, to hit
St. Croix
hard for this carnival season, plus pre-releases in Thanksgiving.
CORE: Any shout outs…
RANCHO: You done know, in JAH we trust,
Ras

straight, Golden Grove, Jacko; not guilty, LP Records, Beat-Down Beats all the time…
