Worst Mistake made while playing in a Dance:Forgetting Video camera tapes and lights athome!
Goals for the Sound Locally, International: Nuff dates abroad from de mid west to Florida down to other Caribbean islands between summer 07 and all of 08 for starters. Plus nuff dances and shows in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands
Outlook on Sound System Industry at Home and Abroad: Dancehall music is gaining higher levels but the VI sound clash scene is still young. The women really help drive the juggling half of the business more so than clash! The ladies want to dance!
Since the beginning of dancehall music in Jamaica, Sound Systems have played a centralized role in the exposure and development of new and existing artists, is there any VI Artist that you are involved with? We interact with home grown artists on more levels than just as a sound sytem. Artists such as Niyorah, Smokey B, RafiJah, Attitude, Junior P, Pressure, Chalese, FP, Jah Fiyah, Kimbe Dan, Q. The Ripper, Fella Million, Malika, Abyssal, Ace, AR man and many more.
What advice would you give to aspiring youth trying to break in the Sound System Industry? Know the foundation, try not to burn bridges, stay up to date, practice makes you better, learn the new technology even if you choose not to use it personally, try not to piss-off promoters, when it comes to your price never ever drop your price to where you feel you have subjected yourself…never! Oh and stay visible, you are only as hot as you last dance, not your last cd!
